Advania moves closer to its 2030 climate target as Norway joins Sweden and Iceland with SBTi validation
Advania’s purpose is to create sustainable value for organizations and society through technology. That commitment includes taking real responsibility for our own environmental impact. Today, we are proud to share that Advania Norway has joined Advania Sweden and Advania Iceland with climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Together, these three markets represent an important milestone on our shared journey toward having all Advania companies validated by SBTi before 2030, a commitment established earlier this year and now communicated publicly for the first time.
What it means to have science-based targets
Having targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative means that Advania’s emission reduction goals are consistent with what climate science says is needed to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. These targets are reviewed and approved by an independent organization, ensuring transparency and credibility.
For Advania, this is not a symbolic gesture. It reflects our ongoing effort to measure, manage, and reduce emissions across the entire value chain, from how we operate offices and logistics to how we design services and advise clients.
Turning commitment into action
Across Advania, the validation process has driven concrete changes in how we work. In Sweden, 70 percent of company cars are already fully electric, and from 2026 only electric vehicles will be allowed. One in four hardware units sold in 2024 was refurbished, directly cutting scope 3 emissions. Continuous improvements in energy efficiency and sustainable operations at the Advania refurbishment center, one of the most advanced facilities of its kind, are further strengthening our environmental performance.
In Iceland, operational efficiency and green energy use continue to shape how we run our business, while in Norway the validation has sparked new strategies to reduce emissions. These include placing greater emphasis on software solutions alongside physical hardware, informing customers about take back schemes, helping them choose more climate friendly products and services, and strengthening supplier engagement on climate targets.
These initiatives show that setting science-based targets is more than a compliance exercise. It changes behavior and accelerates progress in every part of our business.
Building momentum across the group
By 2030, all Advania companies will have validated science-based targets. This is a clear signal that sustainability is embedded in our business strategy and a shared responsibility across markets.
Hege Støre, CEO of Advania, calls this milestone both symbolic and deeply motivating.
“We are proud of what our teams have achieved so far, and inspired by what lies ahead. Science based targets turn commitment into action and connect our sustainability goals with everyday decisions across the company.”
