Sustainable devices, smart savings and nearly €80,000 in reduced costs
At Advania, we help organizations turn sustainability into tangible business value. In collaboration with a Finnish customer, we delivered a refurbished device solution that combined lower costs, reduced emissions, and secure lifecycle management, resulting in nearly €80,000 in savings without compromising quality or compliance.
The customer, StaffPoint, is one of Finland’s leading personnel service companies, providing services in recruitment, staffing, and training. Alongside its commercial operations, StaffPoint plays an important societal role through initiatives such as integration training for immigrants and employment coaching for job seekers. Supporting this mission requires reliable technology, but also smart and responsible choices.
The challenge
StaffPoint wanted a more cost efficient and sustainable approach to IT device procurement. At the same time, the solution had to meet strict regulatory requirements and ensure a high quality user experience. Managing the full lifecycle of devices internally was not considered a core capability, and the company was looking for a trusted partner to take responsibility for this area.
The solution
Advania delivered a refurbished device solution supported by a financial leasing model in collaboration with 3stepIT. The setup covered device procurement, quality assurance, security requirements, and lifecycle management, allowing StaffPoint to access modern, reliable equipment while significantly reducing both costs and environmental impact.
The solution was designed to align with StaffPoint’s operational needs and sustainability ambitions, while freeing internal resources to focus on the company’s core business.
Key results
The refurbished device model delivered clear and measurable outcomes. Compared to purchasing new equipment, StaffPoint achieved savings of nearly €80,000. Refurbished devices cost between 50 and 80 percent less than new ones and retain their value longer. Each refurbished laptop reduced CO₂ emissions by up to 80 percent. The devices also supported StaffPoint’s societal initiatives, including education for immigrants and employment coaching for job seekers.
“It is self evident for us to focus on what we excel at. IT device lifecycle management is not part of our core expertise, which is why the partnership with Advania and 3stepIT has been crucial,” says Tom Keskinen, Financial Director at StaffPoint Group.
Why it worked
The success of the project was built on a long term partnership and a shared understanding of the customer’s needs. By combining Advania’s expertise in IT services and lifecycle management with 3stepIT’s leasing and refurbishment capabilities, the collaboration delivered a solution that proved sustainability and cost efficiency can go hand in hand.
For StaffPoint, refurbished devices are no longer an alternative. They are a strategic choice that supports both business performance and social impact.
