The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) has taken a major step in enabling the safe and sustainable use of AI by deploying an internal ChatGPT solution developed in partnership with Advania. The tool supports daily work and enhances AI competence across the organization, regardless of employees’ prior experience with AI.

FIOH provides multidisciplinary expertise in occupational health, well-being, and safety, and its AI needs are equally diverse. To address this, a dual-track approach was taken: an advanced AI tool built on Azure AI for data scientists, and a user-friendly chat interface integrated into the intranet for general staff. This ensures all employees have access to AI tools that support their specific needs.

Security was a top priority throughout the development process. The solution was designed to meet FIOH’s strict data protection and cybersecurity requirements. In addition, efforts were made to raise internal awareness and competence to ensure responsible use of AI in line with organizational policies.

Following the success of this initiative, FIOH and Advania are continuing their collaboration by implementing a new AI Hub platform to further accelerate responsible AI adoption in working life.
